Up there on top of Monte Tobbio

On Sunday 10 December, a challenging excursion awaits us on one of the most iconic and well-known mountains in the heart of the Capanne di Marcarolo Park: Monte Tobbio. Although it is not in the slightest comparable to the high peaks of the Alps, from its top you can enjoy a magnificent 360° view from which you can see the Ligurian Sea, and beyond the expanse of the Po Valley, the entire Alpine arc where it is possible to identify peaks such as Monviso, the Matterhorn and the Rosa group. On the summit there is the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Caravaggio, a small whitish church which, when hit by the sun, almost seems to light up, further helping to identify this mountain compared to other peaks in the area

EQUIPMENT

Packed lunch, trekking shoes or boots, layers of breathable technical clothing, trekking poles, windbreaker, hat or bandana, good supply of water (at least 1.5 litres).
