Wolves and shooting stars: nocturnal trekking

Simple excursion at night in the wonderful context of the nights of San Lorenzo to explore the environment of the wolf and follow its tracks , starting from the small historic village of the Alta Val d'Orba dedicated to the saint.

We will begin our experience in the small village of Olbicella , a historic nucleus closely linked to the history of the Badia di Tiglieto , characterized by the small square , the church dedicated to S. Lorenzo, the commemorative monument dating back to the Second World War and the ancient mill, which we will visit in the original parts recovered.

At the end of the short visit we will leave for the evening walk through the woods of the Alta Val d'Orba: during the itinerary, stories and tales relating to places and wildlife will intertwine, including legends, false myths and realities relating to the wolf; some techniques used for the monitoring of the species will also be shown. 

We will then stop for a packed dinner on the lawn , where we can enjoy the spectacle of the Perseids , the shooting stars of S. Lorenzo .

Finally, return at night to the cars and food service (for those who wish) at the Pro Loco office in Olbicella.

" SulleTraccedelLupo " is an Eco-Tourism and Sustainable-Tourism project born in 2016 for the study and environmental dissemination of the wolf species.  The excursions are organized monthly on different itineraries on the basis of environmental conditions, weather and the surveys carried out during the technical data collection inspections.

Recommended equipment: layered clothing, trekking shoes, camera.
